Aye Myitta Center is mainly for children that are physically handicapped in Myanmar, regardless of race, language or religion. In 1990, visually handicapped Grandma Daw Kyi Aye moved to Hlaing Thar Yar Township where people were living in overcrowded living condition. There were many diseases and people were fighting for survival. For people who are suffering from TB and also people that are physically handicapped, Grandma Kyi Aye help them by sending them to hospital and showing them love and care. She also makes arrangement for children that are blind and deaf to be able to attend school at her own expenses. Some of the children that she sent to school suffered from TB, and therefore, she had to keep them at her home and take care of their daily well-being. Subsequently, more and more disabled children arrived at her house for help. Therefore, she seeks help from World Vision (Myanmar) for Medical Care and Nutrition.
